What is your relationship with Bright Auctions and Troostwijk Auctions?

We are a partner of both Bright Auctions and Troostwijk Auctions. This means that all our auctions take place through these platforms. You can place bids via either Troostwijk Auctions or Bright Auctions, depending on the auction. You can find this information in the relevant auction details.

Can vehicles be purchased outside of an auction?

Unfortunately, it is not possible to purchase a vehicle outside of the auction. Bidding is always required. If you are the highest bidder and the vehicle is not awarded, you can always contact us to explore a potential sale.

Can I only view a vehicle on the designated viewing days?

Viewing days are organized to give you the opportunity to inspect the lots. If you are unable to attend on the specified date, please let us know, and we will see if another arrangement is possible.

Why do I have to pay BPM on a car with a Dutch license plate?

The BPM (Dutch car tax) has already been paid on Dutch vehicles. However, we deduct the BPM from the bid amount because many of our cars are sold to foreign buyers. These buyers can reclaim the BPM since it does not apply to them.
In essence, we advertise the car at an export price. Buyers who intend to keep the car registered in the Netherlands will have the BPM amount added to their invoice. This is purely an administrative measure.

How much is the remaining BPM?

The amount of remaining BPM varies per vehicle. It is determined based on factors such as the vehicle’s age, original catalog value, and CO₂ emissions.

What can be auctioned besides cars?

In addition to cars, we also facilitate the sale of motorized two-wheelers, campers, boats, caravans, and more. If you would like to auction one of these vehicles, please contact us directly at 0485 - 57 57 57 or info@automotive-auctions.nl.

What costs are added to my bid?

Additional auction costs will be added to your bid. If the lot is subject to VAT, VAT will also be charged. Additionally, if mentioned in the auction details, BPM may apply.
You can always check the total cost yourself. When you click on "place bid" on the Automotive Auctions website, you will be redirected to an external auction platform. There, you will see a breakdown of all additional costs. This external platform is also where you place your bid.

How can I receive the registration codes?

You will receive the registration codes when you collect the vehicle. If you need them earlier, please email us at info@automotive-auctions.nl. This is recommended if someone else is picking up the vehicle on your behalf. After presenting the invoice or a copy of it, you or your transporter can take the vehicle.

What is allowed on a viewing day?

On a viewing day, you can thoroughly inspect the vehicle. You are allowed to start the engine. In consultation, a purchase inspection can be arranged.

Can I take a test drive?

Unfortunately, a test drive is not possible.

Where do the auctioned vehicles come from?

The vehicles in our auctions mainly come from the trade sector or private individuals. They are not sourced from bankruptcies, seizures, or similar circumstances.

I placed the highest bid. What happens next?

A lot is usually subject to approval. This means that after the auction, the seller decides whether the lot will be awarded to the highest bidder. Wondering if a lot is subject to approval? You can check for the "approval" label next to the current bid. If the lot is not awarded to you, you will receive an email after the auction. If the lot is awarded to you, you will receive an email with the invoice notification. We aim to inform you within 48 hours (on business days) after the auction closes.

The auction has ended, but I find the highest bid too low. What now?

You can choose not to award the vehicle. There are no additional costs associated with this decision.

What payment methods do you accept?

You can pay easily via iDeal through your account on the external auction platform. Cash payments are not possible. Once you have won a vehicle and received the invoice, you must pay online via the external auction platform’s website or app.
