The DB9 is an almost unique proposition in these times of downsizing and electrification, as equally hand-built competitors with a naturally aspirated V12 are few and far between.
This DB9 from 2005, originally delivered in America, was imported to the Netherlands in 2007 and has been in the hands of the current owner since 2014, who has a garage for maintenance and restoration of classic cars.
Shortly after the purchase, he completely disassembled the engine and then fitted a new crankshaft, forged Supertech pistons and Carillo connecting rods. He also had 12 new cylinder bushings pressed, the cylinder head fully checked and valves resharpened and replaced where necessary. Then the whole thing was reassembled with new gaskets and rebuilt in the car.
For the materials used alone, the invoices for an amount of more than € 8,800 (Excl. VAT) are available, and the owner has spent more than 120 hours on the overhaul of the block. All in all, the engine is now better than ever delivered new and since the overhaul the car has been driving around without any problems for years.
