Austin Healey 3000 MKII 3 carbs 1961

This car, produced in Abingdon, England, is the successor to the Austin Healey 3000 Mark I, which was manufactured between 1959 and 1961. The Austin-Healey BT7 2+2 Roadster with three carburetors, of which only 5,096 were built, is considered the most advanced model of the Big Healey Roadsters. This model was produced for just over a year as an interim model for the introduction of the BJ7. The BT7 combines the classic low handling and handling of the Healey roadsters with a sleek design and quick responses. This is enhanced by the power and responsiveness of the triple SU HSF4 carburetor engine, which can only be found in this model and in its 2-seater variant, the BN7.
This 2-door convertible, equipped with 2+2 seats, has a built-in frame for the folding roof, but the cover cap is missing. In addition, there is a tonneau of which the zipper needs to be repaired. The current owner has purchased an extra hardtop with rear window, which is intact, but still needs to be finished. The car was bought by the current owner in 2010 with the aim of preparing it for rallies. Despite the amount of work that has been done (as can be seen on the accompanying invoices), the project is not yet fully completed.
Considerable work has already been done on the car, including the installation of a new radiator and alloy fuel tank, and the underbody plates have been professionally redone. In addition, the hardtop has been purchased, and the engine has been completely professionally overhauled. The car now needs the final finish: the water hoses need to be installed, the bumpers are present but still need to be mounted, and the seats need to be fixed on the renewed floor. The car is equipped with beautiful red leather seats and wire wheels.
There are invoices for work carried out and parts worth more than €10,000, including VAT, in addition to the work that the current owner has already carried out himself. Although the paint is not in showroom condition, it is in reasonable condition, befitting the purpose for which the car was built: driving.
